Our School's Annual Auction -- Today

Posted on October 1, 2008 in Corel Photo Painter (Category: Default)

Right now, as I type this entry, about 20 people are busily working over on the church campus getting ready for the other 200 of us that will show up in about 2 hours to start putting together our contribution to the school auction/carnival/faire. The actual event starts in 7 hours.

In the past, the auction has been only for parents, and has always been a big dinner/dance/gala costing up to $150 per couple.

This event, costs nothing to get in. Grins, however, I know for sure that parents will be dropping money all over the place.

The events has:
A kid concert at 7pm
Lots of bounces, velcro games, clowns, balloons, and a human fooz ball game (can't wait to see that)
Food vendors from around the area
A Kid Bid Auction (this is my baby -- where we have 10 great prizes for the kids to have a chance of winning)
A Parent Bid Auction
A Silent Auction
A Teen area with climbing walls, bands, dance floor, and laser tag
and also a fund an item area where parents can buy a desk for a class, a new computer, a tree, etc.

Its a busy day -- it will be a hectic day -- but it will be fun.

The auction is over -- and my feet hurt. :)
But oh what fun -- and how great it is when parents enjoy hanging with their kids!
My area ended up being quite successful. I estimate that we sold over 1,000 tickets ($1 each) in just over 3 hours and ended up with some very happy winners in the KidBid Auction. I have now seen this kind of fund raiser done quite successfully twice!! The iPod had the most tickets placed in for chances to win!! The Narnia box went quite well and the two bikes were a big hit.
I am tired though -- and my cat feels neglected!
So I shall bid you a good night!

Jen
