Revit Builds

Posted on December 10, 2008 in Autodesk Revit Building

Revit is in ongoing development. The developers read the forums at AUGI.com and respond to bug reports etc. These builds are not advertised as thoroughly as they should be. That means that as users we should keep an eye on the Revit forum at AUGI.com because that is usually where it's posted first. The builds are coded so we know which one is the latest. You can find out what version you have by going to Help-About Autodesk Revit. Build 20060518_2300 has just come out and addresses mainly area plan calculations; there is a full discussion of this topic here http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=38578. cheap corel draw cheap microsoft office

PhotoArts Santa Fe Woos Collectors

Posted on November 30, 2008 in Corel Designer

PhotoArts Santa Fe is a 10-day festival designed to call attention to Santa Fe’s status as a destination for collectors of photographic art. The event runs from Friday, July 13 through Sunday, July 22 and features exhibits, workshops, photo shoots, studio tours, and lectures in a number of galleries, studios, art centers, and outdoor locations in and around Santa Fe and Albuquerque. The PhotoArts Market from July 20-22 at El Museo Cultural de Santa Fe provides a rare opportunity to view photography and photo-imaging technology in the same venue. It will feature more than 30 booths of local and national photographers selling their fine-art prints as well as more than 25 vendors of photography-related products including Epson, Canon, HP, and Adobe. In an essay on collecting photography published in the show’s resource guide, Gussie Fauntelroy claims Santa Fe probably has more photography galleries and private dealers per capita than anywhere else in the US. “Museum-quality prints by renowned and emerging photographers in a spectrum of styles, genres, and time periods are available, with prices ranging almost as broadly as the work itself.” He notes that “Collectors can get started at $500 or less for a print, while museum-quality rare or vintage master works can start at $40,000 and go up.” Fauntelroy concludes that “New Mexico’s legendary light, landscape, and art communities brought the important photographers here, and a wealth of photographic opportunities, workshops, publishers, and other photo-related services and events continue to keep them here.”

I think I'm in love . . .

Posted on November 25, 2008 in Corel Designer

Okay, so I got a copy of Corel Painter IX, and I've been playing around with it. This is a really powerful program, and if you're in the field of digital art, I would suggest taking the time to learn this program. It mimics paint accurately and beautifully. Anyway, I started thinking and realized that since Photoshop has been giving me a hard time mimicking ink, I should try inking a comic frame/character on Painter. After all, most inkers use brush and ink. So I did . . . I've gotta say, I'm impressed. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not about to get rid of all my sketchpads, and I still say art on paper is the way to go, but for the purposes of creating a weekly webcomic, I'm thinking of moving to pure digital. Photoshop for pencils, Painter for inks, and back to Photoshop for color. cheap microsoft office cheap corel draw
